WHAT IS FLOW FOR HOPE?
"
Flow For Hope is a completely youth-led organization, which is a huge part of what makes it special. While we are still growing, our mission is always centered around using wellness and community to support pediatric cancer research and raise awareness. Being youth-led matters because students have the ability to bring fresh ideas and perspectives, and are more often connected through schools, social media, and local communities, helping causes and initiatives to spread quickly. Even small actions, like attending a yoga event, sharing a post, or donating, can end up making a real difference when more and more people contribute! Youth-led organizations demonstrate how leadership can always start early. Many students want to help others, but may not know where to begin. Flow For Hope bridges opportunities for anyone of all ages to get involved, collaborate, and use their interests and passions to support a meaningful cause through the shared love of movement and wellness!
An important part of our mission is yoga and mindfulness. Yoga cannot cure cancer; nonetheless, studies have shown that it can greatly help support emotional and physical well-being for patients undergoing treatment. Pediatric cancer patients often experience stress, anxiety, fatigue, and emotional exhaustion during treatment. Gentle movements, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices can significantly help reduce stress levels and create small moments of calm during really difficult situations.
At Flow For Hope, we want to create a supportive community centered around movement, mindfulness, and hope. As Flow For Hope continues to grow, we hope to continue creating opportunities for people to come together, practice wellness, and raise awareness to support pediatric cancer research and make a positive impact in the community!
